J. W. Perkins, long respected county resident, died last Friday at the Olney home of his son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Leberman after a lengthy illness. A veteran of the Young County Camp of Confederate Veterans, he was regarded as upright and well liked by all who knew him.
Uncle Bush Lawrence, a familiar Graham figure born in Tennessee, died Tuesday night at age after a long life of 30 years in Graham. A Confederate veteran and member of the Young County camp of Veterans, he was known for bravery and kindness and was buried Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery.

The jury in the state versus A. S. Busby returned a guilty verdict after a brief deliberation. Busby, the defaulting assistant financial agent of the penitentiary, was sentenced to three years confinement in the penitentiary. An appeal is expected, likely delaying final action.
The Parker case in Dallas where he is charged with killing lawyer Bell has run for weeks and is not expected to finish by December 31 as the court term ends. Dr. W L Crawford leads the defense for Parker.
Ordinance 41 prohibits riding or driving on Graham sidewalks except at street crossings. Violators face misdemeanor charges with fines between five and twenty five dollars. Effective upon publication per law. Approved by J E Simpson Maburik on November 6 1905.
A large distillery and warehouses operated by a Pennsylvania company were completely burned last week. Fire destroyed thousands of gallons of whiskey, and officials say it will take about six weeks to complete losses and prepare to resume production for the Christmas trade.
