An advertisement extols off the rack clothing as superior to tailor made goods. It claims ready made suits are manufactured not stitched by tailors, invites customers to try on and keep only if it suits, and promises 25 to 40 percent savings over tailor made garments.
The district and county clerk E B Norman died after a stroke on Friday. His funeral was held Monday at Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev G W Black officiating. Norman, born in 1852 in Mississippi, moved to Young County in 1877 and served as county and district clerk from 1906 until his death. He leaves a son and two daughters and was active in church and charity. The county court appointed J L Vaughn and D D Casenbary as successors. Also covered are quarterly Methodist conference reports, church membership gains, and officer nominations alongside local news.
The pastor will preach at both Sunday services at the Methodist Church. At eleven o'clock the sermon is titled Fools and at 7:30 Ghosts. A warm reception is promised as stoves are in place. Everyone is welcome.
