Epirok Leaper notes a county cyclone on April 25 with 36 killed 47 injured and extensive property damage. He reports narrow escape for family and says crops prospects are fine though winter wheat is reduced. He signs as Felix RE Taylor.
Last Thursday bright weather drew crowds to Gra ham's union picnic with games races and courting in the shade. The write up notes cheerful scenes and playful romances among the kids promising more fun next spring. On Sunday morning the seventh, John Goldstein killed Luther King twelve miles east of Duncan I T. Luther King and Eber King clashed over a dispute. Police report says Goldstein shot and killed Luther King instantly while attempting to separate the men. Luther King was the son of L A King, a longtime resident of the Flat Top area. The community expresses sorrow over the tragedy.
An election is set for the first Saturday in June 1893 to choose three trustees for each school district in Young County Texas. The note mentions railroad survey activity near Graham and Tonk valley, recent heavy rains, and that Graham is improving under sanitary ordinances.
