Notice to creditors of PD B Kendall of Young County Texas. On April 23 1909 Kendall executed a deed of assignment conveying all property for creditors who consent to proportional shares and discharge from claims. Assignee has qualified. Creditors consenting must notify in writing within four months and file claims within six months at Newcastle Texas. Witnessed April 26 1909.
The Graham Steam Laundry announces pickup and return service with experienced staff and one of the lowest prices in town. Flat work two cents per piece rough dry five cents per pound. Out of town patrons may leave bundles at Cardwell or Baynes Barbershop. Local citizens visiting Newcastle included Dr J L Williamson and others. Teachers certificate exams set for Friday and Saturday May 7 and 8 at the courthouse and the public school.
Mt Pleasant reports Miss Julia Simmons completes a six month term with excellent attendance, proposing a Saturday close and a children’s picnic. The column also notes local happenings including Mr. Crawford’s ranch tank cleaning, a cement dam project, church events, new members, travel to Manitou, and dry weather affecting stock water.
The notice extols bank savings and payments advantages, urging readers to open an account. It highlights safety, worry-free finance, easy tracking of income and expenses, making change, receiving receipts, building credit, and adopting a businesslike habit. It invites both small and large accounts to come in and see the bank.
