Formal Opening Passenger Depot Thursday Evening
A joint Rock Island and Wichita Falls and Southern depot opened last Thursday night amid rain and a strong turnout of over two hundred. M. K. Graham hosted, with Mayor W. P. Stinson and Hon. Frank Kell delivering major addresses. Music by Akard’s Music Club and local groups pleased attendees, followed by refreshments from the Civic League. Officials present included H. J. Sewell and T. H. Wilhelm of Rock Island, and Frank Kell and I. W. Miller of Wichita Falls and Southern. The $30,000 brick station features a large waiting room and a ladies rest room, with grounds slated for beautification. Secretary Walker lauded chamber and civic league efforts and road cooperation.

T D Finley a longtime Young County resident died at his home five miles east of Graham after months of illness He moved from Rusk County and lived in the Dakin community since then He is survived by his wife and nine children Funeral services were led by Dr C R Taylor pastor of the local Baptist church and he was buried in Oak Grove cemetery Friday afternoon.

Route A residents report John Horn is recovering from a strange illness after a spell that puzzled friends. Henry Schlittler and Horn attended the Fat Stock show in Fort Worth. Some think sardine can poisoning, others blame sunburned roof of the mouth from gazing at the Texas area. Horn is improving per Henry, who delivers his mail daily.

Doctor bitten by dog seeks rabies observation in Fort Worth
Dr. R A Duncan was bitten by a dog last Thursday and, after concerns about the dog’s actions on Friday, went to Fort Worth for Pasteur treatment. The dog was brought to Fort Worth to be kept for several days to see if rabies develops. Duncan chose rapid treatment to avoid risk.

Mrs Hamrick Wins $20 000 Judgment in Rail Accident
Mrs C V Hamrick was awarded 20000 damages by a Wichita Falls district court jury after hours of deliberation in a suit against Fort Worth and Denver City railway. The petition had sought 30000 and claimed permanent injuries from a truck locomotive collision at the union station while she and Mr Hamrick ran a Graham business.

Mrs. John A. Lee died March 12 after a 45 day illness in Rule Texas. She and her family formerly lived in Graham and had many friends there who mourn her passing. Burial occurred in Rule on Wednesday following the death. Graham friends extend sympathy to the husband and children.

Sinclair hits 800 barrel well on Moran land
The Moran land well near Wild Bend, east of Herron City, drilled by Sinclair Oil and Gas, yields 800 barrels per day from 2517 to 2526 feet. It is noted as the best north of Brazos in the area.
