District Court Opens With Grand Jury Indictments
District Court convened Monday the 4th with Judge A H Carrigan presiding. A grand jury of twelve men, including M K Graham as foreman, was sworn and charged to probe jail cases and suspected anti trust conspiracies. One indictment returned, and a true bill in the murder case State vs A P Stewart set for March 18 with a 90 man special venire. Akers case dismissed. Boozer case continued.

Short Work With Lavigne Indicted And Pleads Guilty
The district attorney had an indictment ready for Robert Lavigne after he allegedly stole money from T. M. Moore. The grand jury returned the bill, Lavigne waived formalities and pled guilty before a jury, receiving a two year penitentiary sentence.
Death of Miss Blanche Wilkinson at Proffit
Miss Blanche Wilkinson daughter of Mr and Mrs Tom Wilkinson died at the family home near Proffit last Monday night and was buried in Proffit cemetery yesterday morning Elder J H Fisher officiating. She was one of the most popular young ladies in the community and many friends extend sympathy to her bereaved family.
