In San Antonio on June 7 a Prohibition mass meeting moved to a government lot after being denied Main Plaza access. The crowd of about 2500 hissed and pelted Rev. Sutherland with rotten eggs while a loud police presence kept order.
In New York on June 7 two boys John Mehan nine and William Klotzberger seven faced the Tombs Court after harassing an Italian, Louis Maskropeto, at Grand and Mott streets. They pushed him to the ground, and later stoned him, fracturing his skull and causing his death. They will be tried for murder.
A Jones burg special reports a pattern of five Hamby brothers each marrying a Stearne girl, in two years. The sequence culminates with the last couple eloping to be wed here on Saturday. Sternes, outraged, abducts Mrs Hamby to Fayetteville for a forced marriage.
