Plans for a reunion on the Clear Fork July 22 and 28 attract expected large crowds as residents push for a new school building funded by bonds. Advertisements tout Cheatham’s Tasteless castor oil and Chill Tonic from D. R. Akin & Co, while local notices correct a prior arrival report and note visits by Ex County Judge Williams and East Texas lawyer Mr. Moore.
Public notice advertises the Britannica nine edition reprint by Reed Peale & Co Chicago offering the set at 1 50 per volume with easy payments. Volume I offered at 60 cents by express and 40 cents by mail, with credit toward the full set. Over half a million volumes sold in six months.
D. R. Axis & Co promotes its best line of machine oil as the country’s finest and invites customers to visit before purchasing while asking when the clock will run down.
