A comic tale follows Dick McCarty who survives a rattlesnake bite and narrates his wife urging more medicine. The narrative then shifts to a bustling Sunday then a courtship ending in marriage as Hymen’s fires gladden a small town couple in a church and at the county clerk.
A man suspected to be J. A. Elmore died in an accidental drowning after riding to a ranch near True. After discovery at Choat crossing the body was recovered from three feet of water and identified by R. J. Jeffery. An inquest ruled accidental drowning.
A pretty wedding took place in Hereford on Wednesday at nine o clock uniting Frank L LeGrand and Miss Georgia B Herron. Rev Jesse B officiated as families noted for prominence and the couple have known each other since childhood. Only immediate family attended and extensive gifts were exchanged including silverware, linen, a piano and cash.
We are authorized to announce a Farmers Union picnic at the Murray school house on Saturday June 10. In the afternoon the Sovereigns of the Woodmen of the World will unveil the monument to the memory of the late Sovereign J. W. Cloud at the cemetery.
Miss Sallie Chism, a leading Texas Christian University actress, will present a recital at the Court House next Tuesday night. The Graham native has earned widespread praise for acting and readings and has led all plays this year with popular success. The Graham Band will accompany her for the performance.

Miss Mary Fields visited the office and delivered dewberries described as the finest seen, some over two inches long. It is noted Mr Fields owns nearly two acres of the crop and about one hundred gallons have been picked this week.
A letter to J. C. Vaughan from Graham extols Devoe lead and zinc paint as superior and longer lasting. It cites John N. Deitel of Fair Haven NY and Charles Hollenbeck praising Devoe lead and zinc versus lead and oil, noting a three year old house still looking fresh while a neighboring chalked off house has failed.

In Harrisburg Dr. Swallow a prohibition candidate for president urged a street laborer to stop drinking. The laborer broke his bottle, Swallow gave a half dollar, the man then entered a saloon and returned saying he bought cold coffee with the money.
Lord Odo Russell recalls a Berlin meeting with Bismarck and Count Arnim. Arnim left the room smelling overpowering, prompting Bismarck to remark that Arnim’s perfume was so strong the chancellor opened a window. The exchange highlights their foibles in a humorous note.
