Great Well in California Shows Immense Water Reserve
M. R. Rose of Capital Tron Works bored a 32 inch diameter 120 foot deep well on R. D. Stephens place near Mayhew Station. It is the largest bored well in the state and furnishes more water than any other. A sixty horsepower engine drives a centrifugal pump delivering over 62 million gallons daily. The supply remains inexhaustible and water remains clear and pure. The well rivals city water works in output. The Record Union notes the extraordinary yield.

After his death a son killed himself in Washington and another was jailed in Lithonia on murder charges.
