Hon W F Ramsey governor candidate will address the Court house next Thursday July 11 at 2 pm in support of his candidacy. He is praised as brilliant and well qualified for governor and denounces campaign funds from corporations. The piece also reports on Democratic National Convention developments in Baltimore with Wilson and Marshall nominated for president and vice president respectively.
The Christian Church revival began last Friday under a tent with a faith sermon by the pastor. Evangelist Kern and singer Altheide lead strong services with a trained choir and gospel solos. Priscilla Club met with Mrs Evans Mabry. music by Bladen Garrett and Mrs Crabb. an ice course and angel food cake themed to the Glorious Fourth. Citizens urged to donate to the Oak Grove cemetery fund at Beckham National Bank as the treasury is exhausted. Mrs Crawford president says funds are needed to keep the sexton and grounds maintained for Graham and Young County residents. Mrs L W Price and Ina May returned from Bridgeport after visiting Mrs Price's mother.
A Monday afternoon gathering at Mrs Rose’s home in honor of Elinor Elliott of Houston featured children including Mary Hudson and Marguerite Akin. Outdoor games followed by ice cream and angel food cake accompanied a young program dated July 7, 1912 with a consecration meeting theme.
The body of Hon. M. Foster District Attorney for the Thirteenth Judicial District was found in his Kemp Kell Building office in Wichita Falls. A 32 caliber revolver was in his hand and a bullet wound in his head, with authorities noting his unstable health after a murder trial and failed re election bid. His funeral plans include a service at Ladonia and burial beside his parents.
On June 30 Christians led with 223 attendees and an offering of 4.35 dollars. Methodists followed with 208 and 5.46 dollars plus 7 new pupils. Baptists recorded 181 and 18.57 dollars while Presbyterians had 152 and a 22.13 dollar Special offering for the Orphans Home at Piles Valley.
