Bonus Office For Soldiers In Graham Opens
On July 1 an office was opened in the Graham Chamber of Commerce rooms to handle Adjusted Compensation act applications. The Retail Merchants Association and Chamber of Commerce jointly fund the office with free stenographic work and fingerprint identifications for ex service men. An estimated 500 ex-service men will file applications at the Graham office.

Army Navy baseball series to aid Graham High School
Lions Club of Graham sponsors three day baseball series on July 7 9 and 11 at 5 PM with Army and Navy or Vets and Drys teams drawn from Sunday School leagues. Proceeds go to Graham High School Home Economics department to expand equipment. Season tickets cost 1 dollar adults 30 cents children single admission 50 cents adults 15 cents children.

Big Carnival Co For Young Co Fair Directors Reach Deal
Directors of the Fair Association met all day to close a contract with the Donald McGregor Shows for the Second Annual Young County Fair to be held in Graham October 7 to 11. The event will feature four rides seven shows and forty concessions as the grounds are enlarged and a new race track built. Farmers chicken men stockmen and others are urged to prepare for a big Texas county fair this fall.

Hon. Lynch Davidson of Houston spoke in Graham after visiting Throckmorton and Newcastle. Baptists Take Early Lead to Defeat Methodists in Playoff
Enthusiasm ran high as the Baptists beat the Methodists 5 to 2 to claim the first half title of the Sunday School League. A large crowd saw four Baptist runs in the fifth inning and one in the second, while Methodists scored only in the last inning. Pat Wood homered for the Baptists, and Umpire Mr. Armstrong earned praise for fairness and firmness in his second season. The Baptists opened the second half strong, winning their first two games.
