Sanders Case Submitted to Court of Criminal Appeals
The appeal of A J Sanders from Clay County district court was submitted to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in Dallas. Appearing for the defendant was L H Mathis of Wichita Falls and for the State Dayton Moses district attorney of the 33rd district and P A Marin district attorney of the district. The court took the case under advisement and an opinion is not expected for several days. In local news A Crampton and family returned from a visit in Lewis County. J G Gaw visited for new seats for Camp Creek school and praised Miss Minnie Donaldson’s management. Chas Ferguson, a longtime local, visited with Dallas News club members. J J Martin of Eliasville accepted a Dallas News club offer. the Leader has visited his home for over twenty one years. The son of Mr and Mrs Jarrett of Fish Creek died Wednesday night aged 21. burial at Oak Grove cemetery, Graham.

Woodmen groups install officers at courthouse event
Last Friday at the courthouse the Woodmen of the World and Woodmen Circle held their annual officer installations. Officers for the Woodmen Circle included Guardian Lois Martin and others, with Sov. P. A. Martin installing, followed by Wood Camp officers led by P. A. Martin and W. J. Redders installing. Speeches by Geo H. McLaren and J. E. Simpson preceded a supper hosted by the two orders. Attendance was lower due to cold weather, but attendees enjoyed the program and music by Geo H. McLaren. Oscar Hughes renewed his subscription to the Leader, praising the paper.
