Rev. B. F. Stallings has resigned as pastor of the Christian Church to accept the Seymour church. His family will move near the end of the month. The Stallings are well regarded, and no replacement has been named yet.
To all the friends whose sympathy and service were so kindly tendered in our time of bereavement we desire to extend our sincere thanks H M Orr and Family.
The note from J. Hall Bowman records strong attendance last Sunday and urges all who were present to return with others. Reminds members to be in their places and keep accurate records going forward.
Wedding invitations announce the marriage of Miss Florence Reed of this city to Mr. H. W. Luce of Graford. The ceremony is scheduled for Sunday morning January 24, 1915.
Mrs. Zula Pearce Center was killed when a Buick six cylinder car rolled over near East Enid Oklahoma. In the crash three others were seriously injured and may die. Rev George Center was away in Kansas at a revival when the accident occurred. Rev C F Pearce the father of Mrs Center lived in East Enid and attended the funeral. The Pearce family had moved there the first of December and were loved by the community.
At the Graham National Bank annual meeting last Tuesday evening the following officers were elected for the coming year: Chas. Gay as President A. A. Morrison as Vice President F. P. Burch as 2nd Vice President R. F. Fowler as Assistant Cashier Directors named include J. W. Smith R. J. Johnson F. P. Bureh A. A. Morrison and Chas. Gay.
A long reading recounts The Leader’s old items from Over Thirty Seven Years Ago and the county’s trade days. It notes Trades Day crowds, county development talks, and new bridges plus road equipment and court schedule changes for 1916.
A daughter was born on Sunday January 10 to Mr and Mrs R F Arnold of Miller Bend. The family announces the birth and notes the new arrival in the community record.
Shareholders of the Beckham National Bank elected officers and directors for the ensuing year at the bank office last Tuesday evening. Elected were S. R. Crawford as President Oliver Loving as Vice President R. E. Lynch as Cashier P. K. Deats as Assistant Cashier and W. McClatchy as Assistant Cashier. Also listed as directors were S. R. Crawford Oliver Loving S. Boyd Street P. K. Deats and R. E. Lynch.
The paper reports a broken linotype caused a one day delay in production. A replacement part is being wired and should arrive by next Monday or Tuesday. If punctual parts arrive, the issue will be printed on time. otherwise blame may be placed on the express companies.
A list of uncalled letters remaining at the Graham Post Office includes names such as J. W. Rickles, T. D. McFall, Lula Thompson, Robt F. Jones, O M Jones, A Grimshaw, L F Gilliland, N S Farmer, with Postmaster J. G. W. and staff noting the notices.
Dug Stewart spent Friday and Saturday in Wichita Falls attending a banquet hosted by the regular agents of the Life Insurance Company. A ten course dinner was served and Stewart said it was well worth the trip for friends and associates.
Prof and Mrs Burt McGlamery of Fort Worth visited our office last week after visiting relatives at Eliasville. Prof McGlamery is a teacher at Fort Worth High School.
