Fire prevention is a public personal responsibility

Fire protection is everybody's personal problem not only to help in a conflagration but to prevent fires. Per capita about 5 dollars goes up in smoke yearly, the price of six months fuel or a month's rent for a five person family. No good fires exist. every loss destroys labor and savings, making America poorer. If fire losses were cut by 50 percent, many properties without insurance would obtain fire coverage, rates would fall, and insurers would gain from fewer claims.
