A Sunday morning accident near town leaves Terry Casey with a broken knee after being thrown from his horse. Two relatives who were with him assist, and Miss Gussie Ragland helps transport him for medical care. The condition is described as reasonably well while awaiting treatment.
Miss Addie Cloud of this county won a ten thousand dollar prize in gold for the best balance sheet at Dallas Metropolitan Business College. She also earned the Metropolitan medal for the top graduation average in the bookkeeping department. Mrs. and Miss Leath Blake wed in Olney on December 19, 1909, drawing much local esteem.
Local notice from W. Borys announcing the sale of a complete stock of groceries at the northwest corner market, urging immediate cash purchase. The owner plans to quit the business and invites serious buyers to call for prices.

The College Students Club of Young county was formed at Mrs Owens home with fifteen members. Officers elected: Percy Owen president, Corine Gallaher vice president, Stephen Ford recording secretary, Archie Owen corresponding secretary, Aytchie Chism assistant, Dot Graham treasurer. Judge McLaren spoke at the inaugural meeting.
A protracted meeting starts January 15 at the First Baptist Church in this city. Rev. F. M. McConnell and singer Mr. Sparks will conduct the event. McConnell is regarded as a safe evangelist among Texas Baptists. All are invited to hear him preach.
Enthusiasts witness a revival style show featuring Shep in a comedy routine that mocks the system and urges joy. Bill Barlow's Sagebrush Philosophy is quoted stressing living and laughter as life’s value.
The Music Department has been added to the public school system. Prof. J. B. Taliaferro, newly relocated from Dallas, has furnished rooms in the Fourth Street school building and is regarded as possibly the best music teacher Graham has seen. The Leader urges liberal patronage for Mr. Taliaferro.
The Olney school board junction case will be heard at the March term of District court. S. D. Williamson of Finis delivered his renewal to the Leader and Dallas News last week. W. T. Gann and R. T. Owens from Spring Creek country visited the city on business last Monday.
