National stir over South Carolina fugitive Yeldell case

A South Carolina sheriff's posse killed a man, two others were tried and acquitted, Yeldell fled to Pittsburgh where he is Rev. E F Flemon. Gov Beaver traced him and debated extradition amid clergy support and press uproar. A later report said Yeldell would be turned over after consultation with Governor Kieherasen, amid claims of political motive.

Tale of a Shirt Drowns in Codorus Creek Incident

August Meiling drowned in Codorus Creek while swimming. His shirt floated then sank, and divers located his body where the shirt disappeared. Two witnesses confirmed the shirt clung to his corpse, lending credence to the superstition that a drowned man’s shirt will find the body.
