First bale of cotton ginned near Graham sells at 23 cents
The first bale of Young county cotton was ginned near Graham on August 8 by M. M. and marketed by the Flint Creek region. The Anderson Gin Co. produced it, bought by John E. Morrison Co. for 23 cents per pound, weighing pounds. A Chamber of Commerce premium of $50.50 was raised by local subscriptions led by Mr. Stephens.
