Exemption Board Completes Work in Young County
The Young County Exemption Board finished examining 210 registrants after a three day session. Four or five failed to appear and will be apprehended. The list of physically fit individuals includes 258 BR. W. Simpson and numerous others, with names such as 854 N. E. Holder and 676 D. W. Gray.

Bad Graham and Proffitt Road Traffic Warns Citizens
H W Zimmerman of Proffitt reported last Friday that the Graham and Proffitt road is severely damaged from rain and travel. He said the route is so poor an automobile cannot pass at one point and that his family had to exit the car to cross it.

Pioneer Citizen J B Norris Dies In Graham
J B Norris longtime Graham resident and senior partner of Norris Johnson Hardware died at his home north of the city last Friday night. Funeral services were held at 4 PM Saturday at the home of his niece on South Elm Street with the town’s businesses closed in his honor. Born July 14 1853 in Anderson SC Norris lived in Dallas McKinney Fort Worth before settling in Graham in 1877. He was married twice and survived by children Erskine Allie J B Jr Sherrill Louise and his wife Louise. He was remembered as a steady principled citizen who embodied the golden rule.
