Burglary Arson Case in Farmer Leaves Damaged Store
Sam Zinn’s store in Farmer was broken into on the 9th. Thieves used a window entry, stole about fifty dollars in goods, then doused the floor with coal oil and set a fire. Millet seed near the blaze smothered the flames. Local citizens traced suspects in three days and recovered some of the loot. E K Barrett implicated and gave information under protection. Duncan Brinley Carter Cheek and Andy Hayes arrested with bonds set at 1000 each. Barrett bonded in Graham. others bonded or jailed. The community vows to pursue justice and reward the effort.
