The Graham school bond election yesterday carried by a wide margin about 4 to 1 with roughly 130 ballots cast. About 100 votes supported the $65,000 bond and 30 opposed, ensuring a new school building to relieve overcrowding at the present facility.

In Dallas a masked group whipped J. T. Moore after his arrest on a charge of enticing a 12 year old girl. The same night ten masked men abducted Moore and broke up his planned wedding as a unnamed woman told Sheriff Hartson she was to wed Moore this week. Moore remains missing.
The Mid-Kansas Kirkland No. 8, five miles south of Eliasville, yielded about 1 500 barrels yesterday. Prairie No. 1 Donnell east of Eliasville showed oil at 3 200 feet as casing work neared abandonment. The well, previously gas shows, was not yet a commercial producer.
Rev J Hall Bowman president of Meridian College paid a short Graham visit Tuesday and Wednesday. He once preached here four years ago and returned to wrap up a successful college year. Fellow citizens welcomed him but lamented the brief stay and extended warm greetings.
Virgil Sampson, a black man from Lamar County, is to hang in Paris Friday for criminal assault. He confessed to killing Mrs. Wadford and her baby, a crime that freed Wadford when he faced trial. Sampson had been in Dallas for safekeeping for a month and asked to be hanged there, a request denied.

Dublin reports heavy civilian casualties in the fighting after Sinn Fein capture of the customs house. Sinn Feiners fired on the building and were met by fire from Black and Tan soldiers using hand grenades, civilians caught between lines.
Victoria Texas May 25 Henry Geffert received a life sentence after pleading guilty in the murder of service car driver Alex Lind. Lonne Lindburge had been given a life term last week for the same crime. Lind's car was burned and his body discarded in a thicket.
In Lumpkin Texas, 17 year old Joe Lumpkin was released on a $1000 bond after claiming he shot his father to protect his mother during a confrontation on the porch. A coroner ruled the killing justifiable homicide.
Friends in Dallas and Graham celebrate R F Short Jr who will receive the A B degree from Baylor University in Waco and the M D degree from Baylor Medical College in Dallas. He has earned unusual honors in his final year and his graduation exercises are announced by Baylor University.
