A two story brick building will rise on the vacant lot between the Lauck Gallaher building and City Bakery on North Elm street. The Kinnebrew Lumber Company announced material orders for the project. Judge Bowles of Breckenridge will supervise construction with Bridges Sons as contractors. The upper story will be a hotel and the lower floor houses stores. The 25 by 150 foot building is expected to cost $25 000 and work will start immediately.

City Commission Grants Ranger Gas Franchise

Superintendent Ends Record Fishing Job at Southwestern Well
M S Elder superintendent of Southwestern Miami Company No 1 McCain completed a record fishing operation at a 4545 foot well noon today pulling a long string of tools casing and packer from the bore. A prior mishap saw tubing dropped and attempts to recover the packer and casing with a spear failed requiring a machine shop split to separate the mass. The Miami well has flowed about 150 barrels daily for six months and taps Ranger black lime with three other wells nearby.

Albert L. Rowan son of a Dallas merchant was found guilty of murder in the Jackson Street post office robbery case and sentenced to fifty years in the State Penitentiary.
