Rights of Way Options Renew'd for West Virginia Connecting Line
Pittsburgh sent report says backers of Belington and Northern, known as West Virginia Connecting, plan to revive the old line. Right of way agents operate along the surveyed Belington to near Carnegie route with a charter issued two years ago. Incorporators include D. F. Maroney of Pittsburgh and J. W. Thompson of Uniontown. The line, originally Belington to Waynesboro eight miles, may connect directly with Carnegie and Pittburg, giving an entrance to Pittsburgh proper. Options to renew right of way expire this fall. founders may not operate the road but hand it to an existing company after completion. The route crosses the Virginia railroad now under construction from the SAA? board to the lakes, raising chance of a Pittsburgh collection over the West Virginia Connecting.
