In Taylor County Tennessee Republicans gain 43 voters to 5 095 while Democrats lose 124 to 5 278 for the general election. Independents drop to 69. one Socialist remains. Precinct shifts noted and registration figures prepared by the County Clerk for November 2 election.
A 4-year-old former government employee Jo y Petersen Jr. was released on a 10 thousand dollar bond amid protests by Justice Department lawyers after being accused of stealing military secrets from the National Security Agency. In Wheeling, Sut ton Siburt, 54, of Adena Ohio died in Wheeling Hospital from multiple injuries after his car collided with a trailer truck on U S Route 4.

James Arthur Dickens 28 was convicted in 1949 of rifling an auto after his Air Force identification tags were found in the car. In 1952 he was convicted of a later offense when his wallet was found in another rifled car. Three days after release Dickens was arrested when his three day old parole papers were found beside a rifled car in Denver.
