Fairmont Man's Victory Barred At Horse Show
At New York yesterday the main stir was the disqualification of C W Watson's pair Kitty Grey and Norena in the ladies phaeton pair class after the blue ribbon had been awarded. Paul A Sorg's Tease and Torment moved to first with Dignity and Respect taking third. Watson had argued for disqualification citing a prior win in 1894, while Norena and Kitty Grey were owned by B D Jordan. Watson claimed Kitty Grey and The Baron had won in the clues, but the records must be checked. Watson added two more blue ribbons to reach 11 overall. Prof Claude B Vincent, recovering from blood poisoning and a burn to his thumb, showed improvement as an incident with a bailly mashed top was noted.
