Firemen Hurt As Home Burns In Memorial Day Blaze
A Memorial day fire in Grafton destroyed an unoccupied seven room frame house on Barrett street owned by Steve Poe. One volunteer fireman suffered severe arm burns and was hospitalized, while Russell Mathews a city fireman was badly burned and treated. Assistant fire chief John Proctor was overcome by smoke and heat and aided at the scene. The alarm rang at 9:25.
