The West Virginia State Road Commission plans a 240 by 40 foot concrete block storage building at three Sycamore street lots in Grafton near the river for highway maintenance in Taylor and Barbour counties. Superintendent A E Lockard will lead a two county headquarters to centralize crews and machinery, with work on the Northwestern turnpike and roads in Mt. Storm and surrounding areas.

Vatican City May 22 An imposing assembly of cardinals archbishops bishops and abbots gathered by Pope Pius XI to approve qualifications for canonization next month. More than 100 bishops attended. Twelve servants of God will be canonized including eight Canadian martyrs French Jesuit priests and two lay brothers. The canonizations occur June 29 the feast of Sts Peter and Paul.
