LAS VEGAS Nev The Atomic Energy Commission postponed the 14th and final shot of the 1985 spring test series just 45 minutes before detonation atop a 500 foot tower at Yucca Flat. In Chicago the bleeding in the head of Siamese twin Rodney Dee Brodie was reportedly stopped by doctors. In Milton Opal Marie Taylor 2 of Mud Luck West Virginia was admitted with polio and some paralysis not critical, she had not received Salk vaccine. In Charleston Bruce Casto of Poca Morris Harvey College was named graduate assistant in Bacteriology at Ohio State University, son of William Casto. In Boston General Manager Joe Cronin said Ted Williams will rejoin the Red Sox Friday.

The FBI arrested James Frager Cox and Theodore Russell Perkins in Pittsburgh for the $20,000 Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. robbery at Akron on March 9. Agents detained them at a Hill District apartment building where they had been living.
The state Health Department reports 12 polio cases so far this year, versus 19 at this time last year. The 1956 total included one new case last week, with two new cases the previous week.
ATLANTA Louisville and Nashville resumed train movement after a 58 day strike while Southern Bell Telephone workers’ stoppage stayed stalled amid new violence. Gavin Whitsett said crews were back on schedule across 14 states as a 90 car freight train moved from Louisville to Cincinnati. Southern Bell reported a fresh flareup of violence in its nine state strike.
Top officials of the CIO United Steel Workers met in closed session today to formulate demands for a very substantial wage increase. The union will present contract demands to the steel and ore mining industries later this month in negotiations covering about half the union’s 1,200,000 members.
Light rainfall last night and early today totaled .38 of an inch in the Tri County area. Forecaster predicts no rain tonight with cooler high of 77 yesterday and 53 overnight. By noon today the temperature was 56 and should reach 66 to 74 later. tomorrow remains cloudy with little temperature change.
The Senate backed a leadership education program including a one cent sales tax increase to fund a 6500000 teacher pay raise, extending to three cents for two years. A parallel bill shifts state aid to counties losing 1.4 million under current formulas, and a use tax measure extends the three percent levy to out-of-state purchases. The sales tax is projected to raise 9.2 million and the use tax 200 thousand, expiring June 30 1957 unless extended. The salary bill awaits House action as most push for passage. Sayre was the only Republican opposed. Dayton Stemple was absent.
