Grand Jury to Hear Case Against Negro Doctor
Charles Town May 6 A new grand jury will hear on Friday charges against Dr Chester Wainwright a negro physician who won the right to have negroes serve. Judge D H Rogers ordered the first grand jury dismissed and an indictment on stolen property dropped after Wainwrights attorney said negroes had been systematically excluded. Rogers said questioning showed it was customary to investigate jurors race and exclude if he was a negro.
