Charleston March 18 A 15 year old boy Earle Eugene Perry died in a hospital today from an extremely rare disease. He had been ill about three weeks and developed very large abdominal veins with a hemorrhage. The physician said complications had not been previously reported in medical literature.

Fifty Year Old Son Pleads Guilty To Assault On Dad
A 50 year old Thornton man pleaded guilty to assaulting his 78 year old father George W Weath. He was fined 25 dollars and costs and, in default, sentenced to 10 days in jail by Magistrate Ona C Jefferys. The case stems from a March 13 arrest following a quarrel during which a bucket knife was allegedly thrown at the father. The elder Weath reported a facial scar and the warrant charged the son with striking his father with an object.

Baltimore and Ohio says none of its principal trains will be stopped by government curtailment since all main line trains are diesel pulled. Diesel locomotives power the Washington to New York route, and past cuts reduced dozens of trains as orders intensified in 1946.

The Baltimore and Ohio railroad reported a four day old mine work stoppage reduces coal runs by 25 percent and furloughs train crews. Western Maryland reports 80 percent of its mines in Maryland West Virginia and Pennsylvania shut down while many non union strip mines continue. Ten Killed In B 29 Crash At MacDill Field Tampa
Ten men died and four were injured when a B 29 from Spokane crashed on landing at MacDill Field in dense fog. Survivors were hospitalized in good condition. The aircraft, assigned to the 92nd Bomb Squadron, came from Maxwell Field after a stopover and crashed at 2:32 a.m. wreckage scattered widely.
