Charles W Van Horn retires today as vice president of operation and maintenance for the Baltimore and Ohio railroad after a 52 year career starting at age 18 on the Baltimore to Grafton run. Born January 17 1879 at Clarksburg he began as a railway postal clerk in 1897 and rose to superintendent of the Monongah division before becoming VP. William C Baker succeeds him as vice president.
