London reports drastic fuel controls to end pleasure motoring this summer. A new system will reduce basic gasoline allowances began April and May with half the purchasing power. By July 1 the basic ration ends and motorists must prove necessity. Sports and entertainment also face cuts to conserve gasoline.
The Dies Committee renews for nine months and opens a probe into Spanish Falangist activities in South America. The House voted 331 to 46 to extend the panel from March 31 to January 3, with Chairman Martin Dies seeking $300,000 for expenses. Rep.
