A Hollywood actress was hospitalized in Santa Monica today after a fall down stairs at her home left her with a painful back. Details indicate a tumble during an evening at home occurred earlier this week.
Taylor County Red Cross concludes three classes at Tygart Lake State Park teaching beginning swimming junior life saving and senior life saving under chapter chair Ronald L. Knotts with Kathryn Taylor as instructor aided by graduates. Funds shortfall threatens curtailment in September after March and April drives.

The department also sponsors a food school on July 12.

Beckley West Virginia. Agriculture Commissioner J B Laughlin and Kenneth Shafer FHA supervisor addressed about 200 attendees at the sixth annual Rural Development Council gathering. They outlined efforts to assist the small farmer and noted a forthcoming FHA branch opening. The RDC aims to foster farm program interest across nine southern coal counties.
Taylor County Fair Association will hold a special meeting on the fair grounds tonight at A o'clock to arrange the July 4 weekend celebration. President Lloyd Sayres said the session will also advance plans for August fair promotion and regular activities.
DETROIT William P Utter 47 told the judge he ran a red light to escape a car fire started by a fallen cigarette ash in the front seat. The judge sentenced him to 100 days in jail or a $150 fine.

Mrs. Gen evieve M. Agnew a landlord was indicted for interfering with the mails after fluorescent powder dusted on letters mailed to tenant Miss Joyce Gast was found in her hands. The letters, from airline pilot William Agnew, husband of the landlady, were said to be taken before they could be read.
Manila Philippines Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas outlined his stance on recognizing Red China. He said the United States recognizes all sorts of nations, some it does not agree with, and that formal recognition could occur if certain conditions show Red China would coexist peacefully with other nations.
Atlantic Greyhound crews in silver and blue buses rolled through West Virginia and nine other states today ending a 12 week strike. The agreement ends disruption for passengers and resumes intercity service.

C S Ebert was elected to the rules committee of the West Virginia state convention to meet in Clarksburg September 2 to 5. William Hannon was chosen as alternate delegate to the American Legion national convention in Miami Florida in October. The elections were made at the 9th District convention held in Fichwood on Sunday, June 26.
