County Exceeds Fifth War Loan Bond Quota in Taylor
Taylor county surpassed its quota in the Fifth War Loan drive with a total of 534,000, becoming the second county in the state to exceed its share. The region’s prize chances hinge on continued purchases until the July 8 deadline, with a miniature Japanese submarine trophy awarded to the regional winning county. Governor Fleming urged continued support despite shortfalls in Series E bonds, noting the need to reach at least 300,000 in that series. A final push invites public and industrial buyers to sustain war bond subscriptions.
