Lexington and surrounding counties suffered about a half million dollars in flood damage after five and a half inches of rain in 24 hours. Downtown streets flooded to three feet, basements filled, major hotels Lafayette and Phoenix hit hard with $200,000 in losses. Roads, bridges and crops across Fayette and adjacent counties damaged. Louisville and Nashville areas also affected with road and streetcar disruptions.
