Lindbergh Testifies Curtis Said Kidnapping Involved Household Member
Col Charles A Lindbergh testified Curtis claimed he had information that the Lindbergh baby kidnapping was arranged by a member of the Lindbergh household and thought the person was a girl. He described futile trips with Curtis to locate the kidnapers and said Curtis reported the family staff knew of the plot. Two household staff women present heard the testimony, nurse Betty Gow and housekeeper Mrs. Ollie Wheatley, who were later exonerated. The kidnapers allegedly used two men from Newark to gain access and remove the baby via the pantry with a green sedan seen in the case.
