Burdett’s resignation is to take effect July 1, 1955 as new council members Stout Muscar and Gatrell assume office. The City Attorney did not comment on reasons for resignation.
Denver attorney Jabez Nelson Truitt won a court decision Friday over his refusal to reveal his first name on an automobile title application. The case centered on disclosure of the name Jabez in the filing.

Police report 29 year old Mildinn Shrewsberry of Sullivan Raleigh County fled the Peace Springs women's prison Tuesday while cutting grass outside the walls. She was sentenced to 2 to 20 years for arson and was last seen near a farm home near Clayton about seven miles from the prison. She stands about 6'5" with brown hair and green eyes, wearing dungarees.
Mrs. Jane H. Lennie, 59, sues for divorce in Chicago on the grounds her husband deserted her in 1922 and has not been seen since. The divorce was granted.
