Kidnapped Child Case Alleges Escape by Pair
Authorities pursue a theory that a man and woman, possibly servants, abducted a baby from the Coughlin home. The child's mother woke around 2 am to a noise and found the infant missing. The father, a Philadelphia engraving company president and Princeton alumnus, says he has no enemies and doubts former staff staged the act. The child, with blue eyes and developing teeth, is described as bright. Footprints on the ground support the kidnapping theory. A reward of 91,500 is offered for apprehension and conviction of the perpetrators.
