CIO and operators seek court on reopening West Virginia liquor stores
Former Republican state delegate J Callinan of Charleston petitions the state Supreme Court to compel the West Virginia Liquor Control Commission to reopen liquor stores closed May 21 to begin a new ration system. He urges recognition of new sales permits across all state liquor outlets and attacks the current card restrictions as unlawful and inequitable. He claims the action aims to curb illicit alcohol sales but argues the rationing plan will expand control and limit access.
