Industrial School Parolee Held For Wrecking of Train
PINEVILLE June 4 Prosector R D Bailey said Virginian Railway agents arrested a Boys Industrial School parolee at Prunty town for wrecking an engine near Simon by a bolt on the track. The engine tore up 90 feet of rail, three wreck trains needed over 48 hours to clear the right of way. The boy denied involvement and named two younger boys who accused him. They were released to their parents. No one was hurt.

Trot Line Blamed For Drowning Of Youngster
In Point Pleasant on June 4 the trot line blamed for the drowning of 13 year old Harry Blankenship who tended the line to supply fish. His 10 year old brother Roy saw Harry pull himself from the river with line in hand as the boat drifted downstream without oars. Harry jumped but sank a few feet from the boat.

Samuel Woods death shocks Charleston legal circle at 81
Samuel V. Woods, former president of the West Virginia Senate and longtime Charleston legal figure, died last night at 81, three days after his wife Mollie Strickler Woods. A Democrat, he served in the Senate 1910 to 1914 and led the chamber in 1913 14. He co founded Citizens Bank of Philippi and was Philippi mayor for two terms. He studied law under his father and began practice in 1881. His wife died Monday.
