Former Congressman Indicted In Robbery Proceedings
Chicago June 2 Former congressman Wharton once a prosecutor and enforcer in crime rings has been indicted with six others on charges of robbing the United States mails. The federal grand jury returned the indictment after a probe into the $193000 Eyergreen Park train robbery last February. Thirty government agents worked the case against Wharton and seven co defendants Charles Limpy Cleaver William Donovan Frank Mec cin Lawrence OBrien Virgil Lit singer and John Flannery.
