Little Kanawha Syndicate Secures Fairmont and Southern

Pittsburgh Pa January 25 A deal closed here Tuesday by Waitman H Conaway for himself and associates of the Fairmont and Southern Rail road Company transfers the capital stock and property to Col J M Schooner representing the Little Kanawha Syndicate. The Buckhannon and Northern railway project from Rivesville in Marion to Belington in Barbour counties had been delayed but the blanket survey held by the Fairmont and Southern blocked the line. With the acquisition there is no obstacle to the railroad’s early completion between Rivesville and Belington and all prior complications are removed by this deal.

Vincent's orchestra provided music and the organization was in fine trim. The second term starts February 7 with a large class ready to begin. The academy's events have been very pleasant overall.
