Four Die In Fire That Destroys Home In Somerset
A fast spreading blaze this morning claimed the lives of four members of a seven person Somerset county family and left two others seriously burned. Mrs. Lawrence Snyder and three daughters aged five to nine died in a one room home near Carnbrook. The father, a coal miner, and a 12 year old daughter Gertrude were taken to Windber hospital. An 18 month old baby boy survived.

Local machinist injured in fall at rail yards
G. M. Shroyer, 48, of 57 Jones street, suffered a fractured jaw after falling into an inspection pit in the Baltimore and Ohio yard at 12:05 yesterday morning. He was admitted to Grafton City hospital in satisfactory condition. Shroyer, a well known machinist for the rail firm, was crossing a narrow walkway when he stepped from it and tumbled several feet.
