Graftonians shivered as tonight's forecast called for near zero temperatures during a continuing cold wave. Two inches of snow covered the county overnight with scattered flurries this morning. Last night’s low reached 19 degrees and rose to 20 by noon. yesterday’s high was 38. State Road crews worked from 8:30 pm through the night, using snow plows and cinders to keep highways from becoming hazardous. Motorists were urged to use chains and drive with caution.
National Jaycee President To Appear At Huntington

He will remain on bond awaiting April grand jury action for allegedly attacking his father during a family quarrel. his injured father was hospitalized thereafter. Clarence F. Dutch Indonesian truce signed off Batavia in Java
The Dutch and the Indonesian Republic signed a truce today ending months of fighting in Java Sumatra and Madoera. The agreement was signed aboard the US Navy transport Renville off Batavia at 255 p m Java time. Hummingbird Wrecked Again Near Gulfport
Five cars of the Louisville and Nashville streamliner Hummingbird derailed about five miles west of Gulfport Mississippi. Passengers remained in coaches awaiting buses to Gulfport. A club car porter was injured. no other injuries reported. The derailment occurred at about 7:30 am as the train traveled from Cincinnati to New Orleans.
