A Greek court previously refused extradition on December 28 and there is no indication authorities plan to interfere with his stay.
Washington reports the senate manufacturers committee heard state welfare officials from Charleston describe rising relief demands in West Virginia under the Lafollette Costigan 500 million relief bill. Calvert L. Estill and Miss Elizabeth Smith testified that authorities cannot meet all needs, forcing more families to seek public aid as work relief programs struggle to cover transients.

Doctors report her heart and temperature normal and her condition improving though the cause remains unknown. She was moved to St Josephs Hospital after the sneezing began and now sneezes less frequently as medical science searches for an explanation.
In Gary Indiana three men were killed and six wounded as officers pressed a long siege at the farm of Mike Lantare after a dispute over a tree led to a gun battle. Sheriff Roy Holley and Louis Boettner were among the wounded before the standoff ended with Lantare dead. A armored truck and tear gas were used to subdue the besieged property.
Washington reports Senator Sheppard defends the 18th amendment while an aggressive repeal push arises in the House. He opposes submission of a repeal resolution. Representative Schafer files a petition to revive Speaker Garner’s flat repeal proposal, which previously fell short by six votes.
Two armed men robbed the Bank of War near War of 1200 dollars as it opened. They held up cashiers W R Kiser and Conrad Chitwood and two depositors. They fled toward Berwin after abandoning a burning car. bandits were later captured six miles away in Betwind and the money recovered.
A bill to require posting of a blueprint in mines showing the minimum number of posts in various rooms was introduced in the Senate by Senator Myers. It previously entered the 1931 session by Delegate Laughlin. The measure passed the house but failed to advance in the Senate.
