State balks at the debt payment in Virginia bond dispute
Charleston WV December 29 the board of public works met to delay the 675000 due January 1 on the Virginia debt pending negotiations over debt beneficiaries. They rejected discussion, citing risk of sectional tensions. The delay hinges on whether bonds are sold on the market and six months given to Virginia debt commission for distribution. State treasurer says postponement could save about 100000 as bonds carry 2 1 percent interest.
