West Virginia extra session eyed for adjournment soon

Charleston February 27 The West Virginia legislature eyed an end to the extra session with adjournment likely Friday evening or Saturday morning as the general appropriation bill consumed much time. A Senate bill by Senator Miller would shift license year from May 1 to July 1, aiming to offset delays from earlier licensing laws and revenue provisions. The Senate could adjourn shortly after passage while the House, delayed by routine business, awaited the license bill and a push to change grant timing for saloon licenses.

Obituary: Samuel Holt Former W Virgnian Dies in Indiana

Samuel Holt born May 9 1836 in Pi county died January 14 1907 aged 70 years 8 days. A Civil War veteran he served in the Sixth Infantry and later captained a volunteer company. He married Maria Elizabeth McGee and had numerous children. The Holt family settled in Delaware County Indiana and joined Salem Church as charter members. He was a faithful church member and devoted father and neighbor.
