Conley of West Virginia told a crowd at Kenmore that the same fighting spirit that won the American Revolution will win the present economic and social war. He urged less selfishness and hatred and more patriotism and religion to preserve the nation and ensure observance of constitutions and laws. The event marked the dedication of a Washington memory tablet, restored by the Kenmore association, near Kenmore owned by Fielding Lewis. The gathering included prominent West Virginians on the anniversary of Washington's birth.
