Massive slide blocks Sparkview Road near Park View
A hillside collapse on Park View road on the South Side halted traffic last evening. Tons of earth and a 25 foot diameter boulder slid from an embankment about five hundred feet beyond the city limits, requiring dynamite to clear a passage while rescue crews and Welfare workers cleared debris through the night. A plumber and a city official barely avoided the slide as they traveled toward West Parkview. The incident coincides with Iowa University awarding its spring degrees, a record total of 25,000.

Zangara to be Examined By Sanity Commission Before Arraignment
