Grafton High School will host one of eight regional regional basketball tournaments on March 18 and 19. Principal Torlock Rasmussen will direct the event for the third year, after being chosen by the West Virginia School Board of Athletics. The city’s strong record as a money maker influenced the selection. Winners from sectional districts at Monorail Marion Upshur and Randolph Barbour counties advance to the regional. Gratton High leads the Big Ten as favorites to win their sectional. Elkins High is a strong state championship contender in theirs.
